We deliver competitive rates and higher returns with no fees charged to you. Our distinctive approach emphasizes educating you on the challenges you may face in retirement, while also providing strategies to preserve your capital. We know you’ve worked hard for your money, and safeguarding in your retirement, as well as getting growth your nest egg needs. That’s why we never recommend financial products that put your principal at risk.

GROWTH

It’s only reasonable to expect a strong return on your investment. We believe in the principle of “growing it and keeping it,” rather than exposing your retirement funds to market risks that could lead to losses right when you need them most. At Safety First, we are committed to offering competitive options designed to help you build a secure and successful retirement.

SAFETY

Your security is always our top priority and the first factor we consider in every decision we make. In fact, we have never lost a single dollar of our clients’ funds to stock market fluctuations. While the market may rise and fall, your retirement doesn’t have to follow the same pattern.

INCOME

Income planning is all about ensuring you have access to your money when you need it to cover financial obligations. Guaranteed Income goes further by providing the reassurance that your income will be there for you throughout your lifetime, giving you lasting peace of mind.

At Safety First, our mission is to educate consumers about retirement planning so they can make informed choices and protect their financial future.

In today’s economic climate, with ongoing market volatility, many people are searching for safe options to place a portion of their retirement savings. Annuities have become increasingly attractive to retirees because of the safety and guarantees they provide. While annuities are not the right fit for everyone, under the right circumstances they can play a critical role in securing a stable retirement.

We also recognize the confusion surrounding annuities and the negative perception often fueled by the media or individuals outside this field. Because there are many types of annuities, the specialists at Safety First Financial are here to guide you in determining which option best fits your unique needs.

Daniel Upchurch entered the financial and insurance industry in 2012 and is also a licensed Series 65. Over the years, he has built one of the largest independent client bases for any single producer in the Bi-State area within a comparable time frame. Daniel achieved this by focusing on each client as an individual, tailoring his approach to their specific needs.

With more than a decade of experience, Daniel has worked exclusively with clients aged 50–80, giving him firsthand insight into the unique challenges of the retirement and distribution phase of life. He considers it a privilege to work with those who are retired, approaching retirement, or even years away from it. One of his favorite sayings is, “I have learned more from the experiences of my clients than I ever did in university classrooms while pursuing my Economics degree.”

Daniel and his wife, Heidi, live in St. Louis County. They have six children, ranging in age from 14 to 24, and one grandchild. Heidi manages the otolaryngology department at Washington University Medical, while also managing to keep Daniel on track.
